About
Who Am I?
A Linux, open source, and open standards advocate, I am a government contracted software engineer who has spent an enormous amount of time (way too much) on wikis, in particular mediawiki. I know a lot about Linux, PHP, Memcached and MySQL, particularly as they relate to performance and the balancing act many times played between that and new features, the complexities of an enterprise environment and/or large site, and writing code that is logical, easy to follow, and thus easy (and frustration free) to maintain.
What About The Site Name?
“Where pegs grow legs: hanging ideas on words” is a play on a great quote that captures how I think ideas eventually transpire and transform themselves to something more.
"All words are pegs to hang ideas on." -- Henry Ward Beecher
Outside of work and/or software engineering, I enjoy soccer, I ride a motorcycle, and I’m generally curious about how the world works (and sometimes doesn’t).

This is a really interesting site. The video of Joshua Bell is an awesome example of how people focus so much of their attention on external factors.
Great video
